Los Angeles based, Natalie Bauer (Nina Dobrev), is a journalist making a living writing about her dating disasters.
And she is making a good living doing that…..as there have been quite a few disasters!
Natalie, however, is getting tired of losing in the dating world and is ready to find someone who could, possibly, be “the one”.
One day she is cruising the dating app when she sees Josh Lin……
She connects with him and they hit it off!
They talk constantly over the next month, getting to know a lot about each other, even their favorite Christmas movies: She “Die Hard” and he “Love Actually” (this movie is “Love Hard”, a combination of the two).
In fact, they hit it off so well, that he invites her to spend Christmas with his family in Lake Placid, NY.
Natalie likes Josh, so she decides to surprise him in Lake Placid hoping that her dating disaster days are finally coming to an end.
Then she meets Josh Lin…..
Ooops, she’s been catfished!

“Love Hard” is a great romcom taking place at Christmas but is not really a Christmas movie (ala “Die Hard”). The cast is terrific (many we know from Hallmark and “Paxton” from “Never Have I Ever”).
Jimmy and Nina are both fantastic!
Watch for the “Love Actually” moment at the end…..bring tissue. 🙂
