Movie Review: “The Marvels”

Kree leader, Dar-Benn (Zawe Ashton), has just found the bangle that will give her the power to save her people from the effects of the Annihilator 30 years before.

She wonders where the second bangle is, but we know (because we watched Disney+) that the “missing” bangle belongs to Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) aka Ms. Marvel in Jersey City.

Nevertheless, Dar-Benn proceeds to destroy civilizations to get the air, water, and other resources needed to save her people.

The only way the universe can be saved is for Carol Danvers, Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) aka the Annihilator (she hates that name), and Captain Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), to take on the Kree leader. And because of the bangles, Kamala Khan, Ms. Marvel, is unknowingly pulled into the fray.

Oddly, the bangle that Dar-Benn has on causes the three superheroes to switch places as soon as one of them uses their power, so with Captain Marvel, Monica, and the completely baffeled and star-struck Ms. Marvel switching roles…..the universe appears to be doomed.

Unless……

Oh, to see what happens you can STREAM this movie on Disney+. But first….watch the movie “Captain Marvel” and shows “Wandavision” and “Ms. Marvel”, and maybe “Secret Invasion”, so you know what the heck is going on.

“The Marvels” is an absolutely FANTASTIC movie with lots of action, thrills, intrigue……and several really powerful, intelligent, women kicking major ass, with assists from Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Goose, and Kamala’s family.

To the maga crybabies who are scared shitless of powerful women…..it’s time to: WAKE UP, BUTTERCUP!
