“Groundhog Day” Movie Review

TV Meteorologist Phil Conner (Bill Murray) is a self centered dick.

A completely unlikeable person who seems to hate the world and everyone in it (like our President, actually) and everyone learns to hate Phil.

He and the TV crew head to Punxsutawney, PA to cover Groundhog Day and hopefully find out if there will be 6 more weeks of winter, or not.

TV producer, Rita (Andie MacDowell), and cameraman, Larry (Chris Elliott), do their best to put up with Phil as he likes to think of himself as THE “talent”.

Once filming is done and a snowstorm blocks them from leaving….Phil wakes up to the radio alarm (Sonny Bono singing to Cher) at 6 AM to find out the day is not Feb 3rd, but, Feb 2nd once again.

As Feb 2nd repeats many many many times, Phil figures out a way to hit on and score with women, eats anything he wants, finds out he can’t die, and causes all sorts of trouble with no consequences (again like our 34 count convicted criminal President who should be in jail, but is not)….

Eventually, though…..he…..

“Groundhog Day” is a classic movie from 1993.

We LOVED it!

And we watched it on Feb 2, 2025.
