Mia Carter (Tiffany Haddish) and Mel Paige (Rose Byrne) have been best friends since grade school and now are business partners in the cosmetics business they started: “Mel & Mia”.
Mel and Mia have a nice storefront with two cool employees, Sydney (Jennifer Coolidge) and Barrett (Billy Porter), but, are losing money and may have to close. 😦
As it so happens, one of their ideas is a hit online and has caught the attention of Clair Luna (Salma Hayek) a megastar in the cosmetics industry.
Claire wants to invest in “Mel & Mia”.
Mia (the creative genius) says hell no, Mel (the business person) says yes, but, they decide to do it if they own 51% of the company, while Claire gets 49%.
Claire agrees……unless either Mel or Mia leaves…..then Claire gets 51%.
Since Claire is a total ass, she does everything in her power to break up the two friends, so she can own it all!
Eventually……oh, to see what happens, you can watch the movie on Amazon Prime or other streaming apps.
“Like a Boss” is a better movie than the critics think, so don’t listen to them. It is a fun, raunchy, brainless, movie with a message of the power of lasting friendship, and doing the right thing.
