Marla Grayson (Rosamund Pike) and her partner (in more ways than one) Fran (Eiza Gonzalez) have built a mini-empire by caring for the elderly.
As guardians of those who can no longer care for themselves, Marla and Fran, take over their lives, sell their houses, and pocket their money….all “legally” as court appointed caretakers.
One of the Doctors they have on payroll (Dr. Amos, Hallmark fav, Alicia Witt), figures she has a prime candidate for Marla and Fran to make a bundle. She can testify in court that Jennifer Peterson (Dianne Wiest) is unfit to care for herself and needs a state / court appointed guardian…..and she is super rich!
Marla and Fran swoop in, get the court order, then stick Marla in a home (also in their payroll) and proceed to take over her life…..and her millions.
When Marla discovers diamonds that no one knows about….she feels she has hit the jackpot.
Until…..she finds out that the Russian mob in the name of Roan Lunyov (Peter Dinklage) has familial ties to Jennifer and, more importantly to him, the diamonds.
Marla’s life suddenly gets complicated….and dangerous….

“I Care A Lot” is said to be a comedy / drama, but, damn….it is more of a thriller / horror that is scary as hell! To think that your life can be taken over that quickly, by a few well-placed greedy people, is more than frightening….it is downright EVIL as shit. Yikes! Rosamund Pike is the perfect evil, even Dinklage pales in comparison. A fantastic must see thriller!
The moral of the story: Never underestimate the love of a son with anger issues…..
