“A Rainy Day in New York” Movie Review

Gatsby (Timothee Chalamet) is a free spirit attending a liberal arts college in upstate New York. He plays the piano and gambles.

Ashleigh (Elle Fanning) is a journalism student at the same college. She has an interview lined up with a famous director, Roland Pollard (Liev Schreiber)…….in New York City! She is super excited.

Gatsby, Ashleigh

Gatsby and Ashleigh are boyfriend and girlfriend so they are planning for a great trip to NYC.

New York City

Meeting with Roland, things take longer than expected for Ashleigh, and Gatsby is left on his own for the day…..in the rain.

He walks to see a friend who is filming a movie and is recruited to sit in a car for the movie and kiss Chan (Selena Gomez) goodbye while the cameras roll.

Quite a kiss!

Gatsby is suddenly having a blast…..

In the meantime, Ashleigh meets publicist Ted Davidoff (Jude Law) and hits it off with him, then she meets famous actor Francisco Vega (Diego Luna) and they REALLY hit it off.

Ashleigh is suddenly having a blast……

Well, one thing leads to another, and…..

Oh, to see what happens, you will have to watch the movie.

“A Rainy Day in New York” is a fun Woody Allen movie that is filled with typical Woody Allen touches: Music, rain, funny one liners that you have to pay attention to to catch, and a full cast of quirky characters. In this movie, the younger generation of terrific actors, is now involved. Great fun! Great cast!

We watched this on Amazon Prime.
