I’m Nick fuuuuccckkkiiinnnngggggg Cage
Nick Cage (Nicolas Cage) is down on his luck and running out of money due to a nasty divorce….and no acting jobs.
Recently turned down for a part, Nick is now depressed, out of money, and not employed.
Nick’s agent Richard (Neil Patrick Harris) tells Nick of a job at a birthday party for super-fan Javi Gutierrez (Pedro Pascal) in Majorca, Spain.
For $1,000,000 !!!!
At first he declined the offer but, now, considering his situation….Nick accepts and travels to Majorca where he meets Javi.
The two hit it off and Javi tells Nick he has written a movie script which Nick offers to read.
Then……a CIA agent, Vivian (Tiffany Haddish), grabs Nick and tells him that Javi is a gun runner and murderer and politely asks Nick to spy for them, while also trying to free the kidnapped daughter of a guy running for office.
Nick agrees, then reality and fiction blur as……
Oh, to see what happens you can watch this movie on your favorite streamer. We watched it on Amazon Prime for 99 cents!
“The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” is a fantastic thriller / comedy about money, greed, family, and doing the right thing….or making a movie. Who knows.
There are soooo many cool references to Nic Cage movies that we could not keep up, even though we have seen many of them, including Croods 2 and Paddington 2….wait…..was he in Paddington 2?…no, but, you gotta watch the movie to find out why I mentioned it. 😉
Great cast (duh) and Nicolas Cage and Din Djarin…..err, Pedro Pascal, are terrific together.
