Movie Review: “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”

The movie opens with Shuri (Letitia Wright) deperately trying to save the life of her brother the King of Wakanda, T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman).

She could not save him and Wakanda is now in mourning with Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett) in charge.

1 Year Later

Nations of the world see Wakanda as weak without Black Panther and are trying to get hold of vibranium.

They found out that Wakanda is just as well protected as before…..ooops.

Meanwhile….

The United States has found an outcropping of vibranium (thanks to an invention by a 19 year old MIT college student, Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne)), in the ocean…..

Riri, Shuri

……and are about to harvest this find when they are attacked, and mostly killed, by the leader of an underwater society and his army, Namor (Tenoch Huerta).

It turns out that Namor wants to kill Riri (which is nonsensical if you think about for longer than a micro-second), then work with Wakanda to attack ALL the surface countries!

Then……all hell breaks loose, and…….

Oh, to find out what happens you can watch this movie on your fav streamer or, like we did, on Disney+ in beautiful IMAX mode. Streaming Rocks! 🙂

“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” is an epic movie (if a bit wordy) with several (overly ambitious?) goals: Honoring the memory of Chadwick Boseman, finding a new Black Panther, moving the MCU universe forward with the introduction of Ironheart (Dominique Thorne), adding more information on Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) and her group of misfits, more depth for Ross (Martin Freeman), and introducing a new line of succession for Wakanda (end credit scene!).

Whew!
