The rich and powerful Vardakis family runs a small Greek Island with a firm hand.
No one crosses them for fear of violent reprisal.
Penelope (Shailene Woodley) is married to Elias Vardarkis but in college was dating his brother Leo Vardarkis (the brothers are twins, both played by Robb Stark….errr, Richard Madden).
Penelope wants out of the marriage but Elias won’t let her go.
One day, Leo was free climbing and fell to his death.
Penelope calls a private investigator, Nick Bali (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), from Athens (with demons of his own) to investigate whether Leo’s death was an accident or….murder!

“Killer Heat” is an extremely interesting murder mystery / thriller that seemed “familiar” to me. I loved that they kept referring to “Ikaris” flying too close to the sun (I’ll let you figure out why), and the scenery, but damn…that familiar feeling never left me. What is it?
The end credits revealed the answer to my feelings, as I screamed and jumped off the couch: One of my favorite authors wrote the short story this movie is based on….Jo Nesbo! 🙂
