(Amazing! Astounding! Avenger?)

Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) has just spent 3 years in San Quentin for a burglary. He has high hopes for getting a good job (after all he, like me, has a Masters in Electrical Engineering) and spending more time with his young daughter, Cassie (Abby Ryder Fortson).
The job he finds is at Baskin-Robbins…..until they find out he is an ex-con and is fired. Hanging with his friend, Luis (Michael Pena), Scott returns to a life of crime.
Luis has a burglary in mind: Break into an old man’s safe while the old man is out of town. During the burglary Scott steals a fancy suit and helmet. At home he tries it on, pushes the button, and is shocked to find he is the size of an ant….with a voice talking to him! Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) is that voice and is the old man who’s house he burgled and took the suit from.
Unbeknownst to Scott, Dr. Pym has been watching him and has selected him to be the next Ant-Man. He also set up the burglary.
Now all Scott has to do, as Ant-Man, is save the world from the evil Darren Cross / Yellowjacket (Corey Stoll).
“Ant-Man” is a terrific fun-filled action adventure. Must see. Paul Rudd is absolutely perfect for the part being part serious and part hilarious and you never know which is coming. Fine for the whole family. The special effects were astounding. “Thomas the Tank Engine” looks so ominous from the ant perspective and so funny when the camera zooms out to watch the toy crash…like a toy. Amazingly well done.
Also, no one seemed to catch this (I did!) but in one scene Luis is whistling the theme to the “It’s a Small World” ride at Disneyland / DisneyWorld. Loved it!
Stay ALL the way through the credits, then let me know (Comment below) what the last segment means and who is that guy (I already know two of them….the other one!) ? 🙂
Go to IMDb for more information. We watched this at the Tracy, CA CineMark where we have not been for several months because of Lori’s continuing leg problem! It was great fun getting out!
