“Instant Family” Movie Review and Trailer

4 Watertowers ForCarol.com Movie Review

Pete (Mark Wahlberg) and Ellie (Rose Byrne) are house flippers who decided they would never have kids.

But, as in life….things have changed and they are now wondering if they just might be ready.  They decide to give adoption a try via a foster parent program (go here to learn how you can be a foster parent: instantfamily.org).

After attending an 8 week class, Pete and Ellie attend a picnic to meet available kids.  Even though that seems uncomfortable, they are told that this is a good way to meet the kids that they might want to adopt.

At the picnic, the younger kids are playing with lots of potential adoptive parents.  The teenagers are off to the side, ignored by the adults, and resigned to the fact that they will most probably “age-out” of the system and then be on their own, where, according to the movie, most of them will become homeless drug addicts.

That is where Pete and Ellie meet feisty Lizzy (Isabela Moner) a 15 year old who’s mother is a drug addict currently in jail, and who, with her two siblings, Juan (Gustavo Quiroz), and Lita (Julianna Gamiz) is in a bad situation at their current foster home.

Pete and Ellie now have THREE kids with issues!  To see what happens, you will have to see “Instant Family”.  It is terrific.  One hint…..take tissue.

Go to IMDb for more information.

Fun fact: See where Wahlberg and Moner worked together in the past.
