“Captain Marvel” Movie Review

Vers (Brie Larson) has only fleeting memories of a possible past life.

Vers is being trained as a Kree fighting hero by Yon-Rogg (Jude Law). The goal of the Kree is to hunt down and destroy their enemy, the Skrull.

While the Kree are very powerful, the Skrull are able to take on any form (all the way down to the DNA) so they can easily infiltrate any civilization.

Vers is powerful, but, impetuous. She has a hard time holding her emotions in check, but, she is finally, after 6 years of training, ready to meet the supreme intelligence and go on her first mission.

Unfortunately, Vers is captured by the Skrull and they probe deep in her memories for information on how they can find Dr. Wendy Lawson (Annette Bening) the developer of the light speed engine they desperately want.

Only one problem…….Vers now remembers more about her previous life (including the fact that her real name is Carol Danvers). She escapes the Skrulls and crash lands on C-53 (Earth) in a Blockbuster store (how funny) where she meets Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) and, more importantly, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) from S.H.I.E.L.D.

From there all hell breaks loose…..

To see what happens, you have to go see “Captain Marvel”.

It is a PERFECT introduction to Captain Marvel because, moving forward, Captain Marvel will be leading the Avengers she was the inspiration for. And we see Captain Marvel emerge as the most powerful superHERo ever.

Stay all the way thru the credits. The first credit scene is breathtaking causing the whole audience to gasp, clap, and yell. VERY COOL. 🙂 The last scene is funny, but kinda gross (at least for some people in the audience).

As Carol and Kristen say: Girls Kick Ass!
