“The Perfect Date” Movie Review

High School Seniors Brooks Rattigan (Noah Centineo) and his best friend Murph (Odiseas Georgladis) are working at a fast food place and saving money for college.

Brooks has his heart set on Yale, but, his Dad (Matt Walsh) wants him to go to UConn (from which he has a full-ride).

Being 18 years old, Brooks and Murph are interested in girls and guys (respectively) and accidentally find their true calling when a customer offers to pay Brooks to go on a date with his cousin, Celia (Laura Marano), so he can spend the night with someone else.

The idea came to him and Murph in a flash! A dating app called “The Stand-In” is designed by Murph. This is an app where Brooks is paid to go on dates and be the person the datee desires him to be. And they pay him.

The app is a success!

Only one problem: Brooks ignores his best friend, and becomes a self-centered jerk.

Why can’t he stop thinking of Celia?

Ah…to find out, you will have to watch the movie. A NetFlix original.

“The Perfect Date” is a fun rom com with a moral.
