“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” Movie Review and Trailer

Disney is streaming this early due to the coronavirus. Watch it on Disney+

Plot: The Empire, First Order, Final Order builds an immense army with very powerful planet-killing Death Stars, Death Planets, Death Starships. A small force of rebels / jedi fight them off and win the day.

May the Force be With You.

Sound familiar? Well the 40 or so year reign of Skywalker’s Star Wars has come to an end (don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Star Wars…even after I just saw the very same plot that I have seen over and over and over again for the last 40 or so years). That said…..I’d love to see ORIGINAL (Think “The Mandalorian”) plot lines involving Rey (with maybe Poe, Finn, and Rose) moving forward (I hear an announcement will be coming at the end of this month (Jan 2020) about the future of Star Wars).

As it stands, “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” is a fun, action filled movie with a Hallmark ending (well, kind of) where we learn who Rey’s parents and grandfather were / are.

“I am Your Grandfather”

Hey, I thought we saw you die…..arrrgh. WTF?

The whole cast (whether they be dead in real life or in the movie or alive) make a cameo appearance or have a guest role, and, truthfully, as a semi-fan boy….most of those appearances were fun. 🙂

Other than those cameos, though, the movie was predictable (see my opening paragraph).

OK, Disney, time to move on with original plot lines (maybe hire Favreau to do it!)…..Rey is cool, and she should get into more mischief in the galaxy and maybe run into Teen Yoda (imagine an unruly teen with powers of the force….yikes!) in the process. 🙂

Go to IMDb for more information.

To see original, refreshing, plot lines for Star Wars….meaning “The Mandalorian”….sign up for Disney+ streaming here.
