“Onward” Movie Review and Trailer

Ian Lightfoot (Tom Holland) has just turned 16.

His mother, Laurel (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) and older brother, Barley (Chris Pratt) are planning a simple private birthday party for later in the day.

Ian decides that this day will be a new beginning for him and he vows to make some changes in his life.

To start, he invites some kids to his party, but, his rude and crude brother kinda ruins those plans by being….well…..rude and crude.

But not to worry, Laurel has a surprise for the two brothers: A magic staff left by their father with a spell that will bring him back from the dead for one day, so he can meet Ian and see Barley one more time.

Try as he might, Barley cannot get the magic staff to do it’s thing. After leaving Ian’s room, Ian reads the spell and……the magic staff starts to work!

Unfortunately, the magic staff only completed half the task leaving Dad with only legs.

But Barley knows what to do, and how to talk to his dad, so the two brothers head off on the quest of a lifetime seeking another magic stone that will complete dad before time (24 hours) runs out.

To see what happens you will have to watch “Onward” on Disney+. 🙂

“Onward” is a great movie with a great message of hope and perseverance. Ian learns to be himself and realize that he is wonderful just the way he is and also realizes that Barley is the one who has been there for him his whole life.

We streamed this movie in 4k UHD on Disney+.
