Greg (Zachary Gordon) is now a future 8th grader trying to enjoy the summer. All he wants to do is play video games, and call Holly (Peyton List) who did not finish her entry in his yearbook soooo he does not know her complete phone number.
Darn.
His dad, Frank (Steve Zahn), however, has other plans and has decided to pay more attention to Greg and get Greg more involved in outside activities like: Camping, Civil War Reenactments, Swimming, and he even sets him up with an internship where he works.
Arrggghh….
Greg just wants to play video games, and, oh, yeah….call Holly.

One day, Rowley (Robert Capron) invites Greg to the country club….where the pool is not crowded, they can order slushies and have a guy deliver them to his table, and……OMG……Holly is there teaching tennis!
Greg makes up a story that he got a job at the country club just so he can hang with Holly.
The summer might just turn out ok after all.
NOT!

“Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days” is extremely funny! We had to hit the pause button so we did not miss anything while we were rolling on the floor laughing. The last of the original trilogy (which were all fantastic fun), we will leave it at that even though there was a poor attempt at a reboot a few years later.
