
Jess (Parminder Nagra) loves to play “football” (soccer) in the park with her friends, and she is REALLY good, in fact…..she is better than any of the guys she plays against, and is getting better.
Jules (Keira Knightly) plays on a women’s football team and one day happens to see Jess kicking some soccer ass in the park.
Jules asks Jess if she wants to play with, or rather…. try out for….,the team and Jess jumps at the chance!
Meanwhile……
Jess’s Indian parents cannot understand why an intelligent Indian girl like Jess wants to play football, and they forbid her to play.
Jule’s mother likes to buy Jules nice clothing and can’t understand why her little girl has posters of “butch” football women on her walls and why she wants to play football.
Breaking the rules….

Jess tries out for the team and the coach, Joe (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), loves her and asks her to come back the next practice.
But life is not easy for girls who love soccer, and….
