Robert (Richard Jenkins), Theresa (Debra Winger) and their 26 year old daughter, Old Dolio (Evan Rachel Wood), are small time drifters and con artists.
The family is happy to earn $20 and, in fact, Robert tells us that they are happy just skimming along without the hassles that come with a real job.
Problem is: They raised Old Dolio without anything that a normal kid gets, like birthday presents, a mother telling her she loves her, pancakes in the morning, etc.
And Old Dolio shows the effects as she is sullen, does not want to be touched, aloof, but is very good at spotting cameras to avoid when they steal.
After winning a trip to NYC on the radio, the family figures out a scheme to bilk the airlines out of a few thousand bucks. Off they go! Only to return a few hours later with the scheme in place.
On the plane back, Robert and Theresa sit next to Melanie (Gina Rodriguez) a seemingly normal, highly educated, employed, individual.

Little do they know what would happen next.
To find out, you will have to watch the movie on HBO. 🙂
“Kajillionaire” is a fun movie with several laugh out loud scenes, some drama, and a shocking ending. The featured image above may be, in my opinion, one of the reasons Evan Rachel Wood got this part…..I mean who in the world, besides her, can do that? So funny.
