A widower, Jim is a former Marine sniper who keeps himself busy by keeping his border patrol agent step-daughter, Sarah (Katheryn Winnick), informed about illegal border crossings on his property.
Driving the fence (a not so big not so beautiful fence) one day, Jim almost runs into Miguel (Jacob Perez) and his mother, Rosa (Teresa Ruiz), who had just crossed thru a hole in the fence.
They are running from the cartel who want to kill them for the sins of Rosa’s brother…..thus making an example of the whole family not to mess with the cartel.
One thing leads to another, and Jim, as per the dying wishes of Rosa to take care of Miguel, decides to take Miguel on a long, and very dangerous, journey to connect with his family in Chicago.

Killings, deceit, and murder follow as the cartel members know his every move and kill everyone in their path. (Moral: Don’t use your credit card if you want to hide).
