Movie Review: “Peace by Chocolate”

Leaving war torn Syria (where his father’s chocolate factory was just destroyed) for Canada, Tareq (Ayham Abou Ammar), is ready to start a new life…..and help his parents and sister join him.

Almost finished with his medical degree, Tareq applies to numerous colleges….none of which accept him.

Tareq’s mother and father, Issam (Hatem Ali), join him in Canada where his father promptly starts making the best chocolate anyone has ever tasted!

Frank (Mark Camacho) is helping the family by making sure they have housing and money to live on, as new refugees.

When Frank tastes the chocolate….he turns his helping into high gear, and gets them a $12,000 community loan to start their own business as well advising them as best he can.

Oh, to see what happens you can watch this movie on Amazon Prime. 🙂

“Peace by Chocolate” is a heartwarming, true story, indie of a displaced Syrian family relocated to Canada and how they grow their small business, make lasting friendships, and……flourish in this strange new, snow covered, land.
