“Safety” Movie Review

With a football scholarship to Clemson University, Ramon “Ray-Ray” McElrathbey (Jay Reeves), learns that his brother, Fahmarr (Thaddeus J. Mixson) is alone at home.

His mother, Tonya (Amanda Warren) has picked up her drug habit again and is now in jail.

Not wanting Fahmarr to live in a state-run home, or with another relative, Ray takes him back to Clemson with him and the two set up a living space, with the help of his roommate and team kicker Daniel Morelli (Hunter Sansome) in the dorm, for at least the 30 days his mom needs to undergo her latest treatment.

Daniel and Ray also recruit some teammates to help…..because Clemson is “family”…..they survive the first 30 days without real incident.

The problems arise when 30 days rehab turns into months more and Ray needs to choose between his brother…..and football.

He chooses…….

Oh……to see what happens, you will have to watch the movie on Disney+. 🙂

“Safety” is a heartwarming movie based on the true story of Ramon “Ray-Ray” McElrathbey and his brother. Excellent. 🙂
