Movie Review: “Dog Gone”

Fielding Marshall (Johnny Berchtold) is about to graduate from college and has just been dumped by his girlfriend.

He is depressed.

His friend, Nate (Nick Peine), is trying to help, but, Fielding does not seem to care as much as others might, and he should, about now……and his future.

Scanning his eyes over the campus, Fielding sees a dog and decides to get one for himself, even though Nate thinks that is not a good idea as Fielding can hardly take care of himself.

At the pound, Fielding meets a yellow lab and names him Gonker!

Graduation comes and goes, Fielding is still unemployed, living at home, and his parents, John (Rob Lowe) and Ginny (Kimberly Williams-Paisley), are supportive, but, also concerned.

Then while walking on the Appalachian Trail, Gonker chases a fox, and is gone.

Then…..

Oh, to see what happens you can watch this movie on Netflix. 🙂

“Dog Gone” is based on a true story and is a nice, somewhat tearful, family movie about a boy and his dog, unconditional love, and…..life.

….and, by the way, keeping your dog on a leash and training them not to jump on people or take food off the table! 😉

We know….after more than 30 years with yellow labs…..here is Blaze (age 8).

Blaze missing his treat. 🙂
