Richard Montanez (Jesse Garcia) had a rather tough life.
He did not go to high school, but, was a great salesman. He was great at selling his mother’s homemade burritos at elementary school, and drugs when he got older.
When he and his longtime girlfriend, Judy (Annie Gonzalez) had a child, Richard (and Judy!) decided he needed to straighten out his life and get a real job.
Passing his resume around resulted in……nothing!

He took the application home and Judy filled it out with a few little lies.
At the interview, he talked his way into the job (janitorial) and did a fantastic job.
Richard was a hard worker and he asked lots of questions, mostly for the machine operator extrodinairre, Clarence C. Baker (Dennis Haysbert).
In short, he was interested in learning everything he could.
One day, he watched a video by the Chairman of Pepsi and took it to heart when the Chairman said:
“Think like a CEO”.

Oh, to see what happens you can watch this movie on Disney+ or just go to the store and buy some flamin hot cheetos. 🙂
“Flamin Hot” is a fun, heartwarming, movie based on the true story of Richard Montanez, who spent 42 years as an executive at Frito Lay before retiring in 2019.
Although his claim to have invented the Flamin Hot Cheetos is being disputed, we all know that corporate jealousy exists, and if you don’t have solid proof (notebook with dates and signed) anyone can dispute your achievements (and try to take them as their own). I know, from experience, and learned really quickly to document e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g.
