Movie Review: “The Wolverine”


August 9, 1945

Wolverine is a prisoner being held in a hole in the ground, when the B-29’s from America arrive over Nagasaki, Japan.

His guard, Yashida (Hal Yamanouchi), tried to save him, but, was unsuccessful.

Instead…..Wolverine saved Yashida.

Present Day

Yashida is on his death bed and he sends his very dangerous “grand-daughter” Yukio (Rila Fukushima) to bring Wolverine to him.

Once there, Yashida offers Wolverine a gift if he watches over his grand-daughter, Mariko (Tao Okamoto), and……

Mariko, Wolverine, Yukio

…..transfer his eternal life to Yashida.

The gift he offers Wolverine?

Death

…and freedom from the eternal living hell that keeps him awake at night dreaming of Jean Grey (Famke Janssen).

Wolverine refuses the gift……then…..

“The Wolverine” is non-stop, breathtaking, action from the first second to the last. Whew!

Note: We are in the midst of re-watching all the X-Men related movies….only a few more to go.

For some reason, I did not review this movie back in 2013 when we first watched it. So here it is! 😉
