“The Last Laugh” Movie Review

50 years ago, up-and-coming comic, Buddy Green (Richard Dreyfus), was about to go on the Ed Sullivan show. He and his manager, Al Hart (Chevy Chase), expected both their careers to zoom into the stratosphere after people saw Buddy on Ed Sullivan.

Well…just before the show (or shoe….you gotta be old to understand that one), Buddy quit the business…..and became a podiatrist.

So much for making it big in show business.

Now….

Al has lost his wife and he and his granddaughter, Jeannie (Kate Micucci), decide it might be best for him to enter an old folks home.

On a tour of the place, Al and Jeannie are harassed by one weird old dude……only to find out…..it’s Buddy goofing around. 🙂

Not ready to sit back, relax, and wait for death, Al suggests they go on tour….with Buddy as the star.

Eventually, Buddy agrees and off they go.

ROAD TRIP!

Along the way, not ready to die Al, meets Doris (Andie MacDowell) and finds one more reason to live.

Buddy, Doris, Al

Only problem is…..

Oh, to find out what happens you can watch this movie on Netflix.

“The Last Laugh” is a fun movie if not a bit depressing seeing as though Dreyfus is only 3 years older than me! Yikes! But it shows that dreams can come true….even if you have to wait 50 years. 🙂
