Ohio 1995
A normal family living the good life in Ohio. Two girls, Natasha and Yelena are happy and well adjusted. Both parents, Melina (Rachel Weisz) and Alexei (David Harbour) are working and seem to be enjoying their suburban life.
Until one night when Alexei announces that the big adventure the girls have been expecting…..is tonight!
That is when the action begins and the loving family escapes from S.H.I.E.L.D. agents in a shootout and fly out of town in a small plane with Melina at the wheel, and Alexei on the wing with a gun!

Once at their location, Natasha and Yelena are taken to be trained as assassins by the Red Room organization….if they live…..they will become “widows”.
21 years later
Natasha (Scarlett Johansson) and Yelena (Florence Pugh) are adults and highly trained assassins. While Natasha aligns herself with the Avengers and marries some guy named Jost (wtf)…… Yelena remains a widow, killing on command.
Eventually…..the “sisters” reconnect, and…….
Oh, to see what happens, you will have to watch the movie in theaters, or on Disney+ for $30 (which is what we did).
“Black Widow” is a fantastic, action-packed, thriller / fantasy, with a bittersweet edge since we all know that Natasha is dead. BUT…..it is nice to get more of a life story on her and to meet her “sister” who, according to the end credit scene is about to go after Hawkeye (!!!), possibly, in the upcoming Disney+ “Hawkeye” series.
This movie also marks the true beginning of the connection between blockbuster Marvel movies and Disney+ Marvel TV series. Miss one……and you have no idea what is happening in the other. For example, Val shows up in the end credit scene. Who is Val? You need to watch “Falcon and the Winter Soldier” on Disney+ to find out.
