Movie Review: “Champions”

NBA J-league assistant coach, Marcus (Woody Harrelson), has bounced around in his life as a a coach mostly due to his hot temper.

During a game he disagreed with the head coach’s play call, pushed him to the floor, and walked away.

The team made it easier for him to walk away……as they fired him.

After spending the night with a beautiful woman……Coach pissed her off and she left him with the two middle finger salute as she walked out the door.

Getting drunk that night……Coach, driving drunk (Drive Safe!), rear ended a car.

A police car!

With the choice of 18 months in jail, or community service for 90 days coaching a basketball team of disabled adults……Coach wisely, for once, made the right choice and met the team!

As it turns out….one of the team members, Johnny (Kevin Iannucci), offered coach a ride home as he was walking (remember his DUI)…..Johnny’s sister was driving, and……oh crap…..it was the double middle fingered woman, Alex (Kaitlin Olson).

Oooops….

“Champions” is a fun, heart-warming, story of a team of adults who are already champions, and who work together as “Friends” to help each other climb the hardest mountain……life.

Anyway, back to coaching the basketball team and……the work they all did together as the “Friends” was amazing.
