Four high flying yuppies from London take a holiday in a small Cornish town and promptly make fools of themselves only to be saved by local fishermen turned rescuers.
That night, looking for some action (like how stupid are they?) in this very small town, they happen upon the weekly concert held by 10 fishermen.
These 10 fishermen sing sea shanties (how did I know a few of them….gotta love my dad) and are REALLY REALLY good!
Joking around, the boss of the yuppie idiots (who happen to be music executives in London) jokes that Danny (Daniel Mays) sign them to a record deal. Well, the joke on Danny went a bit too far and took too long to reveal itself as a joke…..soooooo,
Danny did what he was told to do and, then, he fell in love….with a fisherman’s daughter, Alwyn (Tuppence Middleton).
And then…..
Oh, to find out what happens, you can watch this movie on Netflix.
This movie is based on a true story…..here they are after their record deal:
