Movie Review: “A Man Called Otto”

Otto (Tom Hanks) recently lost his wife, Sonya (Rachel Keller), to cancer.

He is a gumpy old man mad at the world and everyone living in it.

He wants to join Sonya, but, is a total failure at suicide.

As he is trying to hang himself, he sees new neighbors moving in across the street……and they are totally messing it up.

Being the grumpy engineer who knows how to do almost anything (and is very particular), Otto runs out to give Marisiol (Mariana Trevino), her husband, Tommy (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), and kids a grumpy lesson on how to park a car towing a uhaul.

Otto, Tommy, Marisol

Back to the hanging, where, of course, he fails miserably……

As he gets to know Marisol and her family, Otto’s life begins to change.

And….

Oh to find out what happens you can watch this movie on Netflix. 🙂

“A Man Called Otto” is a terrific, heartwarming, sad, low key movie, about life…..death……and how even grumpy old men, who just want out, can have a large heart.
