STEM / STEAM: Artemis 2 Blasts Off for the Moon

Scheduled for April 1, 2026 four astronauts will blast-off to do a look-see of the moon in a 10 day mission.

Here is a short video from NASA:

The four astronauts are from left to right in the picture below are: Jeremy Hansen, Christina Koch (more on her below), Victor Glover, and Reid Wiseman.

Coverage on April 1, 2026 on NASA Youtube will start at (I think) at 9:50 AM (Pacific) and continue for the entire 10 day mission.

Now, a bit more about Christina.

She is an electrical engineer like me and some other famous Astronaut Jose Hernandez, who I met briefly at Lawrence Livermore National Lab where we both worked.

Electrical Engineers….apparently I am the only one who is scared to do what they do. 🙂

Anyway…..I wrote this blog entry in 2020 about Christina when she returned to Earth after spending a record 328 days on the Space Station.

Safe Trip all!

I may post here with updates during the 10 days…..

Note: I grabbed the latest featured image while watching the NASA YouTube link (from above) on my Pixel 10 Pro XL.

They are off to circle the moon on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Safe Trip!

4/6/26: Humans have NEVER EVER traveled this far from Earth! Until now. 🙂 STEM / STEAM / ARTEMIS rock!

4/6/26: Artemis has come closest to the Moon today. On their way home! Splashdown scheduled for April 10, 2026

Turkey Jedi will be WAS there to help 🙂

Safe Trip!
