STEM / STEAM: Google Career Certificates

Go here to learn more about Google Career Certificates for technically inclined folks who may not have, or do not plan to get, a college degree. Study to be a Data Analyst, Project Manager, UX Designer (User Interface), and IT Support Specialist.

Truthfully, I have been enjoying learning Javascript programming using Grasshopper. Being a retired engineer, I have no need to rush or even finish, sooooo, I am doing the exercises just for fun, and, even so, I am learning a lot!

And I commend Google for putting fun, educational, technical learning opportunities available online for those of us who want to get into technology without a four year degree. Graduation comes with a valuable, Google awarded certificate, that will be sure to impress an employer.

So what are you waiting for? Go for it!

Here is a description of the IT Support Specialist (go here for the links)

“IT support is all about troubleshooting and problem solving when technology fails us, and providing great customer service along the way. Specialists support everything from networking to operating systems, and system administration to security in the workplace.

80% of learners in our Google IT Support Professional Certificate program in the U.S. report a career impact within 6 months, such as finding a new job, getting a raise, or starting a new business.

  • No degree or prior experience is required: 61% of learners enrolled do not have a four-year degree.
  • Set your own pace and timeline: The average learner completes the IT support program in three-to-six months.
  • Learn from anywhere: The courses are 100% online, and there are not any in-person requirements.

This certificate is a launchpad to a career in IT.”
