STEM / STEAM: Artemis Lifts Off for a Spin Around the Moon

This morning, the largest most powerful NASA rocket ever finally lifted off for it’s initial trip around the moon.

Go here to read all about the Artemis program. And here.

Here is a short clip from the Artemis web site:

“Artemis is the first step in the next era of human exploration. Together with commercial and international partners, NASA will establish a sustainable presence on the Moon to prepare for missions to Mars.”

Exciting stuff (!!!!) as one day soon the Artemis program and NASA will, once again, land people on the moon, but this time….one of them will be a woman!

Then, eventually, Mars……and someday…..space travel!

Science fiction will become science fact. And those pickle jars will be opened for real. 😉

Here is a ForCarol STEM / STEAM entry on “Callie” an account of the fictional first woman on the moon, then go here to see who I think may be the first real woman on the moon!

Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics: STEM / STEAM rock!
