Movie Review: “Thor: Love & Thunder”

Thor (Chris Hemsworth) has been hanging with the Guardians of the Galaxy in semi-retirement. He joins the latest battle only when Quill (@prattprattpratt) asks for his help.

Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) finished her book and is now in chemo therapy fighting stage 4 cancer.

Darcy (Kat Dennings) shows up for 10 seconds to support Jane.

King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) has a handle on being the King of New Asgaard and everyone is happy and thriving.

Then…..

Gorr (Christian Bale) prays to the Gods to save his daughter, Love. The Gods do not save her and piss Gorr off in the process. He later learns that the Gods only care about themselves and are…..well, assholes.

A grieving Gorr vows to kill all the Gods and starts by invading New Asgaard, kidnapping all the kids, and waiting for Thor God of Thunder to show up….so he can kill him.

Luckily, Thor calls up his team of superheros to help him fight Gorr in the Dark Realm and, hopefully, save the kids of Asgaard: Jane (who left her hospital bed, travelled to New Asgaard, picked up Mjolnir, and is now the Mighty Thor), Korg (Taika Waititi), and King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson).

Korg, Jane (Mighty Thor), King Valkyrie, Thor

Can they save the kids? Does “Thor” die?

To find out, you can watch this movie on Disney+. 🙂

“Thor: Love & Thunder” is not the best Thor movie….in fact….it is our least favorite. It is a bit confusing with way too much comedy (there is a serious / comic balance that was there in, for example, the fantastic Ragnarok…..that is gone now). Did I see a couple of Harry Potter homages? Very cool. 🙂

Important: Stay all the way thru the credits.
