Ruby Gillman (Lana Condor) is a normal (except she is a Kraken and blue), happy (as much as a teenager can be), 15 year old high school student attending Oceanside High.
She has a squad of friends, Bliss (Ramona Young), Trevin (Eduardo Franco), and Margo (Liza Koshy) that stick together no matter what…..until today!
The squad always obeyed the zillion rules Ruby’s mom has listed, but, not going to the prom is taking it just a bit too far, and Ruby will spend that night alone.
Because: One BIG mom rule is to NEVER go in, or near, the water.
But this year, the prom will be on a boat where a zillion things can go wrong.
